Once you program this pedometer. It’s accurate as long as you input your proper stride, input your honest weight, do not drop it and like all pedometer even the some very expensive one. It will not totally input steps if you are using an elliptical machine. It has not ‘popped off’ like my other pedometers and slide over the floor. Which will give you incorrect step input. The information this pedometer is very helpful if you are ‘working’ on your 10,000 steps a day, miles, calories, fat burn and something that is really great. . It will track your exercise time. Let’s say you do maximum effort in walking for 60 mins. Then you decide that you will walk a longer distance at the parking lot, walk the grocery store or you are walking around the restaurant until you are seated. . A few minutes here and there. The pedometer will note that effort and give you an accurate amount of total time in a 24 hour period of time. This pedometer will also keep in memory of total amount of steps for 99 days. I would have been fine with 30 day memory but this will give you a 99 day memory on steps walked.
So far so good, but the manufacturer needs to include instructions on how the lanyard works. After a frustrating struggle i finally figured out that the lanyard clip’s push button has to be flipped up in order for the clip to open. Then attached to clothing and push the button back down. Also, in order to attach the lanyard to the pedometer, do not untie the loop. Instead you need to fight to push the whole loop through the tiny hole then wrap the pedometer through the loop once. Also worth a mention, instruct the user to remove the sticker from the face of the pedometer before proceeding with set up. I know, i know, but i’ve never owned one of these things before.
I researched a large number of pedometers for specific needs/features: walking, not jogging or running; miles(km’s), not just steps, measured; speed in each segment; 3-d functioning (works in any position); hard to dislodge or lose; hard to inadvertently reset; reasonable accuracy & size; and, finally, cost under $60. This item excels in all the above. I have fiddled with running and jogging and found it did not perform well. Level & hill walking is accurate to 2-3% on measured courses and treadmill, wearing it on my belt/waistband. Its very small size, sturdy clip and safety strap all keep it from dislodging. Many other good units are plagued with inadvertent resetting during use but definitely not this one. Control buttons are excellent. While the numerical readouts are easily read, the unit displays for each mode are miniscule. (they are sequenced & easily memorized, however.
This is my favorite pedometer. According to it’s display, there are the equivalent of 1109 steps in the wash, rinse and spin cycle of my washer. The additional steps were recorded after i took it out of the washer tonight and put it on my waistband. I bought this 4 years ago and replaced the battery just recently. Now that my knees are new i can walk again and this records my steps accurately and consistently. Still, i hope i remember to take it off my shorts before i wash them again.
In the past, i’ve used many mechanical pedometers. The durability of those pedometers is less than desiring as i have to constantly replace them. I went online and researched the different types of pedometers, read many reviews and finally decided on the ozeri 4×3 razor. The price is reasonable and it has many good reviews. The pedometer arrives fast and i was surprised on how thin it was. My other pedometers have twice the thickness. Setting it up was very simple. I wasn’t sure of my step length though. 5 as recommended by the many reviews but after testing a few times on a treadmill, i lowered it to 2.
Ozeri 4x3razor digital pocket 3d pedometer with bosch tri-axis technology from germanyday 1: received in mail—packaging was good—easy to get to the pedometer. Noticed it came with extra battery/small screwdriver, instructions and lanyard. Following instructions, i pulled plastic tab to activate unit and had it setup in just about a minute. Controls are straight forward and easy to work. I guessed at the stride length setting it at 2. Day 2: did a measurement for stride length—took 4 different ‘speed’ readings and got 4 different stride lengths. Settled on leaving it setwhere it was at 2. Hit the tread mill—-made adjustment in stride length down to 2.

I use this device to track my walking. I walk to music that i have compiled that is 116 to 120 beats per minute. I usually walk in 3 mile increments. I have checked this device’s mileage calculation against several measured trails and it is very accurate. It weighs less than my car key and has a very sturdy clip that stays attached to my waistband. The calories burned calculation compares favorably to formulas i’ve used from the web. I’m very pleased with this device.
